Mayssa Jallad ( born 1990) is a Beirut-based singer-songwriter, architectural researcher and teacher. Her work is deeply personal and political at the same time. Jallad's first solo album, Marjaa: The Battle of the Hotels, looks at the history of the battles of Beirut that took place before her birth during the civil war in Lebanon through a shared musical and architectural lens. Their music is addressed to the Lebanese youth of the post-war period, who never knew this difficult history but are now confronted with the political consequences of this violence.
