In the organizer's words:
M.C. Escher's art was always characterized by his interest in geometry and mathematical formulas - driven by the search for infinity. Stairs that ascend and descend simultaneously to connect in a circle. For him, there was no top and no bottom, no beginning and no end. He captivated several generations with his fascinating pictures. His life story spans from the wild 1920s to the Second World War and the psychedelic flower power era.
