Heike Geißler reads from her book "Arbeiten"
What is a person worth? How are the benefits and costs of a person measured? Heike Geißler reflects on the meaning of work, on its omnipresence, on material and invisible work, on giving and taking, winners and losers. On the trail of work, she observes her surroundings and gets into conversation with a wide variety of people: the tradesmen who replace the windows in her apartment, the delivery man, a chronically ill friend and her own parents. Her observations soon condense into a panopticon of modern working life, revealing the deep rifts between survival and growth. Heike Geißler, daughter of an East German working-class family, mother of two and system-critical author, addresses work in her usual manner: politically, poetically, radically.
