For many composers, nature was far more than just a subject - it was a place of refuge, a source of inspiration and a mirror of inner feelings. This a cappella program brings together works from different periods and sound worlds, all of which in their own way translate the encounters between man and the natural environment into music. Fanny Hensel's Garden Songs and Veljo Tormis' Autumn Landscapes are separated by a century and a half - yet both works are not based on sound painting, but on deeply felt emotional exploration. You can look forward to a multi-colored concert that places the festival motto in an exciting European context.
