His songs and lyrics are known to countless people - throughout the Ore Mountains and beyond the region's borders. Anton Günther was born in Gottesgab and grew up between the forests of the Fichtelberg and Keilberg mountains, where he also found his final resting place. With his work, he created an unforgettable cultural monument to his 'Haamit'. His songs were written at a time of political and social upheaval, which had an unmistakable effect on him. To mark the 85th anniversary of his death in 2022, this evening will take us on a search for traces in the life of a man who was shaped by his homeland, but who was also to have a decisive influence on its image.

THE SAXON THEATERTREFFEN
Every two years, theaters from Annaberg-Buchholz to Zittau, from Plauen to Radebeul come together for the Saxon Theatertreffen. After 10 years, Leipzig will once again be the venue in May 2024, with the TDJW and Schauspiel Leipzig as hosts.
In addition to eleven municipal, state and regional theaters, the program also includes productions from the independent theater scene.
