Immerse yourself in the colors and sounds of Iran for an evening.
“My Iran – The Painted Sound” is the first evening in a series: Over the coming months, five more events in our “My Iran” series will follow, offering a variety of ways to experience Persian culture, art, and community. We’re kicking things off with painting and music.
During this evening, you’ll become an artist yourself: On your own canvas, you’ll create a traditional Persian boteh motif (paisley)—the centuries-old symbol of Persian art. Live music will accompany you, creating an atmosphere where creativity flows naturally. Whether you have painting experience or not—this evening is for everyone.
What makes it special: You’ll take your finished artwork home with you at the end—as a lasting memento of an evening full of colors, music, and new connections.
What to expect:
- A guided painting session featuring a Persian Boteh motif (Paisley)
- Live music to accompany you throughout the evening
- Food and drinks to keep you nourished
- The chance to meet people from the Iranian community and beyond
- A relaxed, warm evening in an intercultural atmosphere

Trilingual event: The evening will be conducted in German, English, and Persian (Farsi)—so everyone is welcome, regardless of language.

Venue: The event will take place at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. We’ll let you know the exact room well in advance of the event.
