The Meisterwerke concert series in Berlin Cathedral presents cultural life in all its diversity - from great classical music to literary-musical evenings and club culture. In the midst of sacred architecture and unique acoustics, unforgettable evenings are created - impressive, moving, inspiring.
Max Mutzke's masculine, soulful and melancholic songs in their purest form:
Without a band or electronics, but instead focused on an intimate dialog with Marialy Pacheco's elegant piano playing. The result is an intimate, moving evening, characterized by trust, spontaneity and musical dialogue. The evening was already completely sold out in March 2025 in Berlin Cathedral, so we are all the more delighted to be able to present an additional date in 2026
Born in Cuba and now at home in Germany for several years after performing all over the world, Pacheco is considered one of the most versatile and brilliant jazz pianists of the younger generation. The encounter with the man with the irresistible soul voice from the southern Black Forest came about in the context of her CD "Duets".
From this first collaboration, the two have developed a varied and at the same time self-contained and very intimate program. The duo's shared joy in exchanging ideas across genre boundaries is evident at every moment, as is their curiosity for spontaneous impulses and improvisational escapades.
However, Pacheco and Mutzke have the most fun interacting with their audience: they can clap and hum and, above all, sing along to their heart's content!
