Melonic skatepunk from Nuremberg

Melodic skate punk with fast riffs, polyphonic vocals, catchy hooks and lyrics with an opinion: MELONBALL are winning over the punk rock scene with their unique blend of politically charged skate punk with catchy melodies and polyphonic vocals. A key feature is the distinctive voice of lead singer Oli, which creates a unique sound in the skate punk spectrum. The powerful lyrics address social and system-critical issues and convey the raw emotions that unite people in the fight against injustice and abuse of power. MELONBALL have been on the road since 2021 and have earned a reputation in the scene as a convincing live band. Whether at KNRD Fest, Manchester Punk Festival, Mission Ready or in front of audiences at A Wilhelm Scream, Punk Rock Factory or Belvedere. And at the latest since their last appearance at the Punk Rock Holiday, where the Beach Stage was bursting at the seams, they are no longer an insider tip in the scene!

THE BURNING FLAGS

Chris Magerl can look back on a long musical career with various projects, releases, tours in Europe and Canada and concerts with Chuck Ragan, Frank Turner, Laura Jane Grace, The Beatsteaks and The Bloodhound Gang, among others.

In 2019, he founded The Burning Flags with musician friends. The band has since released two albums on the renowned punk label Sbäm Records. The OX fanzine wrote about the debut album, which also features "The Detectors" as guests, "What a debut! Anthemically good!".

Live, the band always impresses with their fusion of indie punk and folk with clear statements on socio-political issues and an energetic, dynamic show as well as pure emotion.

": Kicking the system in the teeth since 2020!

Are you just really in the mood for the good old 90s/2000s pop-punk sound that's all the rage at the moment and that everyone is imitating and copying? Then take note: "Die Fledermaus" DOES THAT TOO!!!1!!!11!

Our songs range from riotously fun to darkly emotional and deal with our own problems and the problems of our time (but mainly with our own).

BUT DON'T BE AFRAID: the blatant messages in our lyrics are not wrapped up in hackneyed platitudes. No! They are open to interpretation by YOU! And even when things get more serious, they are always garnished with a wink, so that in the end you don't take everything so seriously, especially yourself.

And it gets even better (wtf, more awesome info about "Die Fledermaus"?!): we also use electro and synth elements and incorporate different genres into our songs (OMG!)!!! CRASS, are you thinking now?! Maybe it's too weird to be true? But it is!
