The Canadian new wave and synth-pop band Men Without Hats achieved international fame with their upbeat and quirky dance sound, centered around the baritone voice of singer Ivan Doroschuk. They enjoyed success in the 80s and reached the Top 20 with "The Saftey Dance", a song from the 1982 album Rhythm of Youth, and "Pop Goes the World" from 1987. Both songs became enduring anthems of the 80s and cemented the group's place in the history of pop culture. After disbanding in the 90s, the band returned in the 2000s, touring and releasing albums such as 2012's Love in the Age of War and 2021's Again, Pt. 1.
