MENDELSSOHN-FESTIVAL
In the organizer's words:
Elena Bashkirova, pianist and president of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Foundation in Leipzig, invites for the second time musician friends to the Mendelssohn Festival in the Pierre Boulez Hall - just a few streets away from the composer's former home in Berlin. In addition to Felix and his sister Fanny, the focus will also be on Jewish composers of the 20th century, Hans Krása, Viktor Ullmann and Gideon Klein, whose works were written under the most adverse circumstances of persecution and extermination by the Nazi regime.
