"Paulus"
Oratorio op. 36, MWV A 14
Mendelssohn's "Paul" is a giant. The famous oratorio with a large cast tells the story of a change through knowledge - from Saul to Paul. It is about hatred, persecution and excesses of violence. And then about the opportunity to change and tackle old transgressions. But what always resonates: the man Paul polarizes, he is contradictory - he is a contemporary figure. Especially when the story of Paul is performed with passion, energy and the highest level of skill. We look forward to a benchmark interpretation for the finale of Musikfest Stuttgart 2024!
