The end of time

Faust, Queyras, Widmann, Aimard: in this Franco-German collaboration, four outstanding soloists have come together to form a quartet in a class of its own. The central work of the evening is Olivier Messiaen's moving "Quatuor pour la fin du temps", which the French composer wrote under precarious circumstances as a prisoner of war in Görlitz.
