Alan Courtis (aka Anla Courtis) was born in Buenos Aires in 1972. He has worked in the fields of sound art, electro-acoustic music, drone, noise, improvisation and composition. His music always has a strong sense of experimentation and is based on high technical skills of prepared sounds, tape manipulations, processing of field recordings, live electronics, objects, cymbals, synthesizers, computers. He plays traditional (acoustic and electric) instruments as well as self-made, strange and unusual instruments (like the Unstringed Guitar).

Anja Lautermann (electronics, objects) and Hanna Schörken (voice) meet for the first time in the mex series. Their common interface is years of research into their own instruments. The result will be performative, electronic and acoustic soundscapes. Microphoned objects, synthetic and electronic sounds, classical instruments, sampled fragments, prepared records and the human voice create their own inner mechanics.
