Michael Kornas Quartet

In the organizer's words:

Michael Kornas - piano
Marcin Konieczkowicz - saxophone
Alan Wykpisz - bass
Maksymilian Olszewski - drums

On the way from Pfaffenhofen to Munich and then to Krakow, where Michael Kornas studied at the music academy and is now an integral part of the local jazz scene, he developed his very own sound between Leberkäs and Piroggen, which can be classified as modern jazz.
Together with award-winning and renowned musicians from the Polish jazz scene, the "Michael Kornas Quartet" was formed. The focus here is on empathy with the music. Different musical concepts, memorable melodies and new sound colors merge into an authentic work that is intended to touch and inspire the listener.

Michael Kornas is the winner of the "Transatlantyk Instant Composition" 2020 competition. He currently lives and works in Berlin. All members of his quartet are Fryderyk nominees or laureates (Polish Music Prize) and winners of the most important Polish competitions.
