The theater is full, but the ensemble and stage set are stuck in a traffic jam - the performance threatens to fall through. Only the assistant director and the prop master are on time. In dire need, they slip into all the roles of the horror classic "The Monk with the Clapper" themselves. What begins as an emergency solution develops into a fast-paced improv show full of wit, speed and absurd twists.

With unbridled enthusiasm, they bring the Edgar Wallace atmosphere to life: from the mad murderer to the quirky butler to the scatterbrained Scotland Yard investigator. The result is a wonderfully over-the-top thriller fun that oscillates between goosebumps and laughter - and at the same time a loving homage to the cult thrillers of the black-and-white era.
