MIGRANTENNALE Neues Festival der Künste in NRW

The MIGRANTENNALE is a young art festival - small in format, but with a big vision: it shows works by artists from the Global South who live and work in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The festival takes place in the Saalbau Witten and is a cooperation between the Kulturforum Witten and the independent art scene - as a joint symbol for contemporary, diverse and high-quality art.

Over four days, from August 21 to 24, 2025, the festival will showcase a wide variety of art at Saalbau Witten - free of charge. Works of media art, theater, installation, dance, music, painting and more will be on display.

At the festival, migration is not just a topic, but an artistic force - a source of creative renewal. It changes perspectives, creates something new and connects experiences. The works deal with borders, knowledge between generations and regions, as well as colonial history. The focus is also on connections between regions of the Global South - for example between Latin America and Africa or between West and East Asia.
