silent green and Digital in Berlin present

For the first time live in Germany: silent green, in collaboration with purge.xxx, is pleased to welcome the legendary Hungarian band Balaton.

Founded in 1979 by Mihály Víg and Károly Hunyadi, Balaton became the cornerstone of Budapest's underground scene in the 1980s and played their first concert in the courtyard of a psychiatric outpatient clinic. In the same year, Víg joined the influential band trabant and subsequently began one of the great director-composer partnerships through his work with Béla Tarr. It is for this collaboration that he is best known internationally: he composed the film music for works such as Damnation, The Werckmeister Harmonies and Sátántangó - in the latter of which he also plays the lead role.

Together with Balaton, Mihály Víg will perform songs from Béla Tarr's films as well as pieces from her own repertoire and that of trabant.
