Mildfire ( with members of Einar Stray Orchestra)

In the organizer's words:

Mildfire is a Norwegian collective of award-winning musicians and producers who have collectively amassed over 100 million streams and made a name for themselves internationally with hundreds of concerts. Based in Oslo and Berlin, the quartet is driven by the urge to touch hearts and inspire therapy with their classical music-inspired indie line-up. Mildfire's members not only tour with stoner rock bands and singer-songwriters. They also lead choirs, perform as vinyl DJs, work on theater plays and in international collaborations, such as with the musician Ali Àit Zaouit in Morocco or Music Art Tabor in Bulgaria. Most importantly, however, they are finally releasing their dazzling indie art-pop songs inspired by bands such as Dirty Projectors and Mew.

Their debut EP "Drinking Salt Water", released on Sinnbus in October 2023, is the lovechild of Steve Reich and Prince. The first in a trilogy of EPs written around the world; on smelly Brooklyn street corners and Greek islands full of cats. Mildfire features the crystalline voice and cello sounds of Team Me's Ofelia Ossum, complementing the unmistakable baritone of songwriter Einar Stray, who tries his hand at his sore and soulful falsetto for the first time here. Steinar Glas from Astrosaur plays bass and Lars Fremmerlid from MesaVerde/Synne Sanden drums more beautifully than ever.
The second EP, the 12-minute, four-part track "How To Be An Astronaut" will now be released on November 17. It showcases the band's eclectic range and love of experimentation - a train ride from delicate, creaking piano to electronic beats to prog-rock explosions and a folky mandolin outro.

With their collective past in the critically acclaimed phenomenon Einar Stray Orchestra, it's now time for the quartet to make their stage debut as Mildfire on November 28 at Berghain Kantine in Berlin. The tour in February 2024 for the release of the debut album will include cities such as Prague, Vienna, Oslo and several cities in Germany.
