Ben Hartmann and Johannes Aue met while studying acting and immediately discovered their opposites and the attraction they felt.

In 2013, they founded the rock formation Milliarden. As a creative forge, they have remained a duo. For the live realization of their songs and in the recording studio, they are joined by a permanent circle of musicians. According to Hartmann, they are all better instrumentalists than he and Aue. However, the lyrics and compositions, the creative impulses, come exclusively from the two billionaire founders. The music started early, when he was about 12 years old. The kindergarten teacher, who lived in the apartment next door in the prefabricated building in Berlin-Marzahn-Hellersdorf, could play two or three fingerings on the acoustic - just like any teacher. A few chords they listened to and tried out themselves opened up a world for Hartmann and Aue in which they could be. Then came punk. For the sake of attitude. In sixth grade, there were classmates who called themselves Nazis and wore their hair cut short. Hartmann confronted them with colorful shoelaces, his first mohawk and the energy of skate punk. His friends from the neighboring asylum seekers' homes, Russians, Bosnians, Kazakhs and his first best friend from Mongolia, used their life stories to promote a humanistic view of humanity that became a conviction. Ben Hartmann does not want his CV and what makes him and Johannes Aue special to be misunderstood as a promotional gesture. He is just as suspicious of social romanticism as he is of the buzzword-driven pros and cons of our time. You don't have to offer music with market-compliant or zeitgeisty "eureka!" polish. It can also speak for itself.
