In January 2026, Minor Majority from Norway will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their fourth album Reasons to Hang Around. The band is marking the occasion with an anniversary tour, during which the album will be played in full. The concert will be divided into two parts: First, the band will play the album being celebrated, followed by selected tracks from their entire career.
Reasons to Hang Around received excellent reviews on its release in January 2006. The album debuted at number two in the Norwegian charts, reached gold status and spawned four major radio hits in the band's home country: "Let The Night Begin", "Come Back to Me", "Supergirl" and "Alison". The opening single "Wish You'd Hold That Smile" unexpectedly became a hit on French radio stations, and the album also sold very successfully in France and Germany. In the years following its release, the band also played numerous concerts in Germany and built up a loyal fan base here. In late fall, Reasons...was regularly listed in the annual charts of the music press. In winter 2007, the album won the Spellemannsprisen (the Norwegian Grammy) in the "Best Pop Group" category.
Singer, songwriter and frontman Pål Angelskår said:
"Reasons to Hang Around might be our best collection of songs and is without a doubt our most important album. Without this album we probably would have quit a long time ago. We are grateful that our repertoire includes such a popular album that draws both old and new listeners into our universe and allows us to continue playing gigs both here at home and across Europe."
