Mittagspause im Museum: „Vom Tora-Mantel bis zum Chanukka-Leuchter“ im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Mit eigener Stimme. 75 Jahre Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland“

Temple consecration, fragrant herbs, crowned scrolls - at the "Lunch Break at the Museum" on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 12:30 pm, museum director Peter Joch will explain the significance of some of the religious exhibits from Judaism in the exhibition "With our own voice. 75 years of the Central Council of Jews in Germany".

Visitors are cordially invited to ask questions and engage in conversation.

After the short, approx. 20-minute tour, participants are cordially invited to continue the discussion over a drink and a piece of cake in the cafeteria.

The exhibition "With your own voice. 75 Years of the Central Council of Jews in Germany" was created in close cooperation with the Central Council. It is the only one on the subject in Germany. Among other things, the exhibition illustrates how the Central Council acted as a political actor in central areas of society to shape and defend basic democratic values and acted as an advocate of the Basic Law. Far beyond the protection of Jewish interests, the Central Council proves to be a driving force for the ongoing democratization and preservation of democracy in the Federal Republic. The exhibition can be seen at Haus am Löwenwall until 20.9.2026.

The Städtisches Museum is fully barrier-free. The Municipal Museum is a member of the Braunschweig MuseumsCard. It allows free admission once and permanently reduced admission on subsequent visits for one year to the seven largest museums in Braunschweig.
