24-year-old Guardian Rah has learned not to trust anyone: not the mentors of her past, not the monsters inside her and certainly not the far too attractive Irin.
When nightmarish creatures threaten to devour the world, the two must go their separate ways. Back home, Rah desperately searches for ways to stop the impending catastrophe. Does anyone in the temples there know where the dangerous creatures are coming from? Meanwhile, Irin follows a trail of ancient secrets and gets caught up in the darkest abysses of the world - and in the shadows of his own past.
