In the organizer's words:

To the theater on a Monday night? No question about it! We are looking forward to continuing the "Monday Shorts", where artists and employees present specially designed programs on our small but beautiful stage in the theater restaurant. There will be plays, songs and readings. There are joint events with other Lübeck cultural institutions as well as improv shows, readings and quirky performances. The ever-popular "Kostproben" will also continue to sail under this flag: during the premiere week, we give an insight into our rehearsals and the directing teams talk about their concepts. And the same applies in future: admission is free.

January

The Monday Shorts start the new year on 12/01 with stories from Norse mythology, wittily edited by our stage manager and Scandinavian studies expert Anna Utech: the focus is on the character Loki and his return in modern pop culture. A milestone in modern pop culture - so to speak - is coming up on 19/01: It's hard to believe, but we're already celebrating the 100th Monday Shorts episode with our acting all-stars and thanking you, the Monday Shorts audience, with a colorful program! And on 26/01, we take a look into the future: will it be as bleak as all the dystopias would have us believe, or are there also positive, solution-oriented visions for our world?

February

In February, we invite you to get a first glimpse of the next play premieres at our tastings. In "Birthday Candles", American playwright Noah Haidle celebrates the life of his main character Ernestine through all the highs and lows of her birthdays. In "The Black Rider", worlds collide and the music of Tom Waits meets the ghost story of "Der Freischütz". On 16/02 you can join in the guessing game at the "Theater Pub Quiz" and on 23/02, together with the Lübeck Women's Office, we will be discussing the (un)equal pay of women and men on the occasion of Equal Pay Day this week.
