Comic oratorio based on the cult film "The Life of Brian" by Eric Idle and John du Prez

Judea, 33 A.D. - A time of unrest, fear and confusion under the merciless yoke of the Romans. Unsuspecting Brian doesn't want much from life: a little less stoning, a little more love, and maybe that people would stop constantly looking for leaders. The only problem is that he, of all people, is declared the adored and hunted Messiah. The more Brian tries to clear up the misunderstanding, the more vehemently disciples join him - including his lover Judith.

After the overwhelming success of the Knight of the Coconut musical "Spamalot", the TheaterRuine ensemble presents the second Monty Python production with a lot of fun and passion. The comic oratorio "Not the Messiah", based on the cult film "The Life of Brian", will not only make the hearts of Monty Python fans beat faster with quotes such as "Jeder nur ein Kreuz" and the hit "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". Songs such as "Sheep, Sheep, Sheep", "Praise the Sandal" and "What are the Romans...?", written by Eric Idle and John du Prez, transform scenes from the film into witty and quirky musical numbers. Great fun for all Brian fans and those who want to become one.

"The Life of Brian" from 1979 is now considered a cult film. In 2007, the comic oratorio "Not the Messiah: He's a Very Naughty Boy" based on it celebrated its world premiere with great success. Now the fun is coming to Dresden.
