Monty Python's Spamalot - cult musical based on "The Knights of the Coconut"

Britain, on a Tuesday in the Middle Ages: as if King Arthur didn't already have enough other worries with bad weather, cheeky Frenchmen and a constant stream of new plagues, he is now also given the task of finding the Holy Grail from on high.

The knights of his Round Table are not particularly convinced by this project, but are persuaded to accompany the search with the help of the fairy from the lake. The little army of knights thus stumbles into a series of bizarre adventures in which they encounter the Black Knight, a cruel rabbit and the desperate Herbert - and in the course of which Knight Lancelot turns out to be a passionate dancer. God drives them on and on in their quest for the Holy Grail and so Arthur and his knights sing and dance their way from one lively musical scene to the next.

The British comedy group Monty Python became world-famous for their incomparably wacky humor. "Spamalot" mixes motifs from "The Knights of the Coconut" with songs such as "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". The musical parodies the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in search of the Holy Grail with cheeky humor. After its world premiere on Broadway in 2005, the spectacle with its rousing music went around the world and is now waiting for you in the St. Pauli Ruin.
