It is shortly before the premiere of "Murder at Haversham Castle", a murder mystery set in an old English manor house. It is about the owner of the castle, Charles Haversham, who has been transported to the afterlife. Was it the fiancée, the brother, the friend, the butler or even the gardener? Inspector Carter takes up the investigation. The ambitious amateur actors have been eagerly awaiting this premiere evening for a long time. They have lovingly made the sets themselves. The last props are being arranged while the first guests are still streaming into the auditorium. Because in a crime play like this, everything has to be just right. Nothing is as important as perfect timing and precise acting. But nerves are on edge. As soon as the curtain rises, one mishap after another happens to the brave amateur actors. They find themselves in the middle of an acting nightmare come true. Doors jam, props are out of place, passages of text are forgotten or mixed up, parts of the set keep threatening to fall off, and the dog has also disappeared. When the female lead also faints due to an accidental blow to the head, the chaos is perfect. But no matter how bad things get, the show must go on. Their passion for theater makes the brave actors rise above themselves. With the courage of desperation, they brace themselves against the chaos: keep their composure and don't let on! And it's not just the murder mystery plot in "Murder at Haversham Castle" that takes crazy turns.

This comedy offers quirky British humor at its best: Monty Python, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin send their regards. It is also a great declaration of love to the theater. The three writers and actors Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields met as students at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. While still students, they founded the "Mischief Theatre" troupe in 2008 and performed their very own mixture of improv theater and comedy. They worked on "The Play That Goes Wrong" in their shared apartment. They outdid each other in terms of wit and wacky ideas and landed a big hit. The production has been running continuously in London's West End since 2012 and won Best Comedy in 2014. It conquered Broadway and now the stages of the rest of the world.
