More Space for Shared Ideas

With the expansion of the Mainz University of Applied Sciences campus, all three academic departments will be brought together at a single location on Lucy-Hillebrand-Straße. This significant milestone in the history of Mainz University of Applied Sciences is accompanied by the image campaign: “Tomorrow Is Here—Our New Campus. More space for shared ideas.” In this context, the exhibition provides initial data-driven insights into the spatial features and infrastructure of the new, expanded campus.

Over the course of the summer of 2026, the new building will be occupied and put into operation, so that students, faculty, and staff can begin the 2026–27 winter semester on the new campus. In addition, the university campus will be expanded to include the LUCY building, which offers student workspaces as well as modern event spaces. This physical proximity will foster future synergies in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.

Only the Time-Based Media program will remain at the Wallstraße location, which is near the main train station and thus only a 9-minute tram ride from the campus. The LUX Pavilion rounds out the complex as a unique showcase for Mainz University of Applied Sciences right in the heart of downtown Mainz, creating a space for interaction between the university and the community.

Mainz University of Applied Sciences’ new joint campus is located in the immediate vicinity of Johannes Gutenberg University, the MEWA Arena, and the emerging life sciences and biotechnology hub. The campus forms a forward-looking hub for applied sciences that seamlessly integrates into Mainz’s scientific landscape through a broad range of degree programs and numerous partnerships with innovative companies.
