The floor is sticky, it smells of cold smoke and decades of concert posters are peeling off the walls. The Grand Master of Ceremonies himself had issued the invitation. People gathered to listen to the lyrics and melodies that seemed to have accompanied them for half a lifetime. This was not a stage show, but an audience. After the collective ecstasy, the hall empties and when the last visitors have blissfully left, only the host remains at the dimly lit bar counter.

Yes, he has come a long way and remembers the endless concrete jungle of his childhood, his first kiss in the stairwell, his first fear, anger and the metallic taste of blood in his mouth. Entire decades manifest themselves in his mind's eye as he begins to tell the story...
