In this half-day course, you’ll create a decorative 10x10 cm mosaic tile using high-quality ceramic tiles.
You’ll learn the “direct technique” step by step: Before you plan your design or select one from templates and begin using tools and materials, we’ll explore possible methods of design and application. You’ll break the ceramic tile into smaller tesserae and attach them to a pre-treated wooden base. Under guidance (available in German or English), you’ll create expressive compositions.
To allow your mosaic to dry completely first, you’ll receive some grout, which you’ll apply at home the next day (following the instructions provided) to finish your piece.
Depending on the design, the finished tiles can be used (indoors) as wall art, signage, or coasters.
