MOTHER'S CAKE
Mother's Cake combine explosive psychedelic rock with stoner rock and progressive energy to create a sound that is as retro as it is futuristic
Their fourth album Ultrabliss combines elements of classic, kraut and prog rock on nine extremely varied tracks, which should please fans of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd just as much as fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers or British indie icons such as Franz Ferdinand, the Arctic Monkeys or Kasabian. Like its predecessor Cyberfunk!, Ultrabliss was created at Sevenarts Studio, Überlärm Studio and Moonwalker Productions Studio and was once again produced by singer, guitarist and songwriter Yves Krismer in collaboration with Manuel Renner and Raphael Neikes. Neikes, who plays guitar and keys live, has become the fourth member of the band. Founding drummer Jan Haußels, meanwhile, left the band on good terms after the end of the album sessions and will be replaced by Alex Kerbl on drums with immediate effect.
