On the second day of the MÜLHEIM SUMMER OPEN AIR, there will be a southern atmosphere in the middle of MüGa Park when cowboy hats meet leather jackets and banjo riffs merge with brute guitars: Berlin country rockers The BossHoss are going on a big tour with their current album "Back To The Boots" as part of their Summer Tour 2026 - and will also be making a stop in Mülheim.
Since 2004, the capital city cowboys around Alec "Boss Burns" Völkel and Sascha "Hoss Power" Vollmer have been shaking up the German music scene with their unique country rock sound. With hits such as "Don't Gimme That", "Dos Bros" and "Word Up", they stormed the charts, sold millions of records and were awarded several gold and platinum awards. Their energetic stage shows not only brought The BossHoss to the biggest festival stages in Europe, but also to television - including as coaches on "The Voice of Germany" and both participants and hosts on "Sing meinen Song - Das Tauschkonzert". With their latest album "Back To The Boots", they pick up on their roots and promise pure, handmade rock'n'roll sounds.
As the evening's opener, the band Rebel Tell will create a party atmosphere. With their self-proclaimed "Schlagerbilly", the four authentic musicians from the Lower Rhine combine Schlager and rock'n'roll in an inimitable way. Things can get wild, as they themselves say: "The performance is only good when it contains the necessary amount of escalation." Whether Andrea Berg, Udo Jürgens or Beatrice Egli - they give well-known hits a completely new, rousing sound, to which singing along is expressly encouraged. Since their appearances in front of Dieter Bohlen and Bruce Darnell on "Supertalent" 2019 and on ZDF-Fernsehgarten, Rebel Tell are no longer an insider tip in the German music scene.
