Municstreet is a 4-piece band from Essen that started out 35 years ago as a cover band. For the past 15 years, the band has dedicated itself exclusively to its own songs. The lyrics cover a variety of topics - they explore dark and turbulent times as well as the finer things in life. Municstreet's music covers a very varied spectrum from rocking "numbers" to atmospheric ballads. Even if their songs are difficult to pigeonhole into a specific genre, they always cast a spell over the listener. Municstreet reached the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest in 2021 with the song "Different". Their most recent album "Kind of different" was awarded the German Rock & Pop Prize for 'Best Alternative Album' in 2023. Municstreet is currently working on a new album, which is expected to be released in spring 2026.
