In the organizer's words:

The first Musethica Concert Week 2026 in Berlin will take place from March 21 to 28. During this week, chamber music professor and violinist Johannes Meissl will be teaching and accompanying four young musicians who are currently studying at the Hanns Eisler School of Music and the Barenboim-Said Academy. Together they will perform string quintets by Mozart and Beethoven as well as solo pieces. Johannes Meissl is Vice Rector for International Affairs and Arts at the mdw in Vienna, co-director of the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy), teaches at numerous courses and summer academies worldwide and has been strongly committed to Musethica for many years.

The Musethica session is a great learning opportunity for the music students. Over six days, they perform up to three concerts a day, usually away from classical concert halls and in front of audiences who usually have little or no contact with classical music. For example, concerts are held in a women's prison, a neighborhood club in Berlin-Köpenick, a school with a special educational focus and an art workshop for people with disabilities.

The primary aim of the training method is to strengthen the performance practice of the music students. The audience discussions, which are an integral part of the Musethica concerts, often open up new perspectives for the musicians, both on individual works and on their role as professional musicians.

We cordially invite all interested parties to the final concert of the week. Admission is free, registration is not required.
