Anima (the soul) is saddened: in her search for peace and happiness, she only encounters sorrow and boredom. Corpo (the body) tries to seduce her with worldly concerns, but Anima strives for higher things. Together they decide to seek happiness in heaven and encounter many other allegorical figures such as worldly life, pleasure, the heart, time, the world and the mind. This timeless parable tells of human existence in the conflict between sensuality, social conformity, vanity and morality: how do we find true contentment in a fast-paced world surrounded by capitalism, advertising, consumerism and Instagram?
