70-year-old Mahin has been living alone in Tehran since the death of her husband and the departure of her daughter to Europe. An afternoon tea with friends gives her the impetus to give up her lonely occupations and reactivate her love life. Mahin opens her heart to a new love. A spontaneous encounter turns into a surprising, unforgettable evening. A heartwarming and humorous crowd pleaser: MY FAVOURITE CAKE is the new collaboration between Iranian directing duo Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha, following their first film together, Ballad of the White Cow, and premiered in competition at this year's Berlinale to enthusiastic audience reactions and a very positive press response.

About Ostwestpassagen: 'Ostwestpassagen' is a private foundation run on a voluntary basis. It contributes to the dialog between cultures and focuses its work on a peace-promoting discourse between Orient and Occident.
