On July 25, 1943, the Cervi family in Italy celebrated the fall of Mussolini’s fascist dictatorship with a big pasta party. The entire community came together and shared what they had. Inspired by this historic spirit of solidarity,mund zu mund (mzm)andCAFÉ + BAR PAMPÁare bringing this tradition to St. Pauli.

For everyone. With everyone. Against fascism.

Here’s how it works:

To make a celebration like this a reality in today’s world, we collectively cover the costs of fresh ingredients, the catering infrastructure, and the cultural program. Through this reservation system, you secure a spot and actively contribute to collectively funding the event.

Choose your contribution:

Pasta Basis—Yourregular contribution toward making the event happen. This covers your own portion, including all fresh ingredients, the infrastructure provided byPAMPÁ, andthe organizational and artistic implementation bymzm.

Pasta Solidaria—Neighborhood solidarityin action, based on the traditional principle of “pasta on credit” (caffè sospeso). You cover your own costs and contribute an additional 5 € directly to the solidarity fund. This helps fund the portions for those participants on the day of the event who cannot afford the regular meal fee on-site.

Important notes for the day:

The “pay what you can” principle
If you can’t or don’t want to pay the online fee, just drop by spontaneously. On-site, we follow the solidarity model: Pay what you can. Simple, no excuses required, and with open arms. This open access is made possible, among other things, by the Solidaria contributions within the collective.

The slot system
To ensure we can offer all guests comfortable seating and a great atmosphere, there are three fixed time slots. Your reservation is binding for the booked time slot. This way, we know how much fresh pasta to prepare for you.

Walk-Ins Without a Seating Guarantee
Spontaneous guests without an online reservation are very welcome—we’re happy to see anyone who stops by. However, due to official capacity limits, we cannot guarantee seating on-site. If it gets crowded, you can easily grab your pasta to go.

What else you can expect:

In addition to freshly prepared pasta (supplied byLa Pastaia, a local family-run business with Italian roots), you’ll find afreely accessible exhibitionon the history, context, and significance of the pastasciutta tradition, curated bymzm. And, of course, the usualdelicious drinksfrom PAMPÁ

Pasta Solidaria –Neighborhood solidarityin action, following the traditional principle of “suspended pasta” (Caffè sospeso). You cover your own costs and add 5 € directly to the solidarity fund. This funds meals for neighbors on the day of the event who cannot afford the regular contribution.

Pay-as-you-can on site
If you cannot or do not wish to make an online contribution, simply drop by spontaneously. On site, we operate on a pay-what-you-can basis. It’s straightforward, no questions asked, and we welcome you with open arms. This low barrier to entry is also made possible by the Solidaria contributions.
