At a time when approval ratings for democracy continue to fall, we are telling an almost forgotten story. It is the story of the first "storming" of a Stasi headquarters on December 4, 1989 in Erfurt. An intimate intimate play about the question of how to know what the right thing to do is and when the moment has come to do it.

At a time when approval ratings for democracy continue to fall, we are telling an almost forgotten story. It is the story of the first "storming" of a Stasi headquarters on December 4, 1989 in Erfurt. For days, the chimneys on the roof of the district administration on Domplatz smoked. The Stasi burned evidence. Five women in particular intervened. Within a few hours, they organize a human chain around the building in Andreasstraße. And then they go in. They occupied the building, sealed the rooms to secure the files and sat outside the locked doors day and night. This is what makes it possible for a reappraisal to take place at all. Today we call it civil courage. But anyone who goes into a situation like that knows what it means to overcome your own fear. It was a milestone in the Peaceful Revolution.In the vastness of an empty store, the audience meets two dancers. It follows the incredible encounter between a civil rights activist and a Stasi officer on the ruins of a system. It is an intimate chamber play about the question of how one knows what the right thing to do is and when the moment has come to do it.
