FILM: Nadeshda
/ Director: Anna Frances Ewert, Falk Müller, Germany 2014, 48 min.
Misho, Zorka and Tsveti live in Nadeshda, one of the largest Roma ghettos in Bulgaria. They dream of a career as musicians in the world's great concert halls, but outside the ghetto walls they are just "gypsy children" and have little chance of breaking the vicious circle of prejudice and lack of prospects. However, their families vehemently defend themselves against social exclusion and the poor image of gypsies among the Bulgarian population. Classical violin training is intended to help the children overcome the social barriers.
