Nana Benz du Togo. Open Air Festival Durchlüften 2026
In the organizer's words:
On four weekends in summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival transforms the Schlüterhof of the Humboldt Forum into an open-air meeting place, without admission, where musical traditions from all over the world unfold and become living archives of culture in the encounter with the audience.
Nana Benz du Togo - "Voodoo tradition meets soul - made for the dancefloor!" The band is named after the group of women who imported Mercedes-Benz cars to Togo. This year they have performed at major festivals such as Down the Rabbit Hole, Roskilde and North Sea Jazz. The ensemble consists of five members whose playing covers a dynamic range, from powerful to more subtle moments. Nana Benz du Togo create an organic sound, characterized by deep sub-basses and multi-layered polyrhythms, which forms the basis for the voices of three rousing electro-soul preachers. With a minimalist setup - mainly vocals and a vintage Korg keyboard - the group creates a direct yet multi-faceted sound. Their live shows are almost spiritual, like a mixture of family heritage and modern fire, and have already put thousands into a trance on European stages.
