Natalie Merchant

Natalie Merchant is finally coming back on tour in Europe. After releasing her ninth studio album, "Keep Your Courage," which was written during the Covid pandemic, she will perform old and new songs live.

In her forty-year career, Natalie Merchant has earned a place among America's most respected artists. She has earned a reputation as a top-notch songwriter and captivating stage performer, and has distinguished herself as an activist for social justice and environmental protection.
Merchant began her musical career as lead singer and lyricist for the pop band 10,000 Maniacs, releasing six albums with the group, including one platinum, two double platinum and one triple platinum record.
Merchant left the band in 1994 and has since released nine albums as a solo artist, selling a total of seven million copies.

Merchant has collaborated with a wide range of artists:including Billy Bragg, Gavin Bryars, David Byrne, The Chieftains, Cowboy Junkies, Philip Glass, Kronos Quartet, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Mavis Staples, REM and Wilco. She served on the New York State Council on the Arts from 2007 to 2011 by appointment of Governor Elliot Spitzer and was recently appointed by New York State Senator and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to the Board of Trustees of the Library of Congress' American Folklife Center. Merchant's awards include: The Library Lion Award from the New York Public Library (2011), The American Society of Authors Composers & Publishers (ASCAP) Champion Award (2019), and The John Lennon Real Love Award (2019).
