Nation of Language | Summer in the City 2024

In the organizer's words:

New York band Nation of Language are touring Germany and have attracted a growing international audience with their danceable and passionate interpretation of new wave and post-punk traditions. Their hopeful music - characterized by soaring melodies, twinkling synth lines and the towering voice of frontman Ian Devaney - is a ray of hope in a time of fear, cynicism, hatred and snideness.

While their sound and songwriting has evolved over three albums, the band's fervent style has also grown into a distinctive quality of the movement, earning the band major accolades from NME, Rough Trade, Pitchfork, Clash and countless others. 2023 has seen the release of their third long player "Strange Disciple", having already performed at Pitchfork Festival, Primavera Sound and Outside Lands, as well as preparing the band's biggest headline tour to date.
