Neøv, Rapid Strides - Braunschweig I B58

Among the many talented and promising acts that have recently emerged from the burgeoning Finnish indie scene, there is one name that epitomizes the sound of this new wave of Nordic indie more than any other - NEØV. On their new album "Soft Atlas", they embody all the virtues and trademarks that have made them ambassadors of Finnish indie pop in recent years, adding another layer of Nordic magic, soaring melodies and wistful poetry.

RAPID STRIDES make indie rock. You know, with sometimes soft, sometimes distorted guitars, hooky melodies, indie disco beats and in English. It's not really done in its classic form anymore. And now it's getting kind of difficult, because is there such a thing as retro indie? Are the Rapid Strides now starting a retro-indie wave and therefore sound so convincingly like the mid-2000s?
