In the organizer's words:
Memories Set to Music
The New York Philharmonic is one of the most renowned and time-honored orchestras in the United States. Once conducted by Gustav Mahler and Leonard Bernstein, the orchestra now presents, under its new, charismatic music director Gustavo Dudamel, a work by the influential American composer John Adams that commemorates one of the darkest chapters in the history of New York and the United States.
