Hamburg actor Rolf Becker recites and comments on selected texts by pacifist and anti-militarist authors of the Weimar Republic - including Erich Kästner, Rosa Luxemburg, Kurt Tucholsky, Erich Maria Remarque and Erich Mühsam.

Their words are as powerful and necessary today as they were then: as a warning, as a call to humanity and as a literary protest against war and violence. In a present characterized by geopolitical tensions and military conflicts, the memory of the great pacifists of the 20th century is once again particularly relevant: It is important to hear and reflect on their critical voices once again.

Can their suggestions and ideas serve us today to find peaceful solutions to conflicts and promote dialog between nations?
