Even prolific geniuses such as Schubert and Mozart did not always compose as if from a single mould: their oeuvre also includes numerous sketches that have been started and abandoned, which hardly receive any attention next to the completed masterpieces, but which sometimes harbor the most daring experiments. Nils Mönkemeyer and William Youn present fragmentary works by both composers in a contemporary complement. Alongside these musical mosaics, Mozart's Violin Sonata KV 379 and Schubert's famous "Arpeggione" Sonata are heard in versions for viola.
