The singer from Kenya is touring with a new album

Irresistible rhythms and colorful melodies - the Kenyan star knows the recipe for "perfect summer music" (dpa).

Nina Ogot uses Kenya's drums and grooves and a European brass section to form a sparkling band that transforms her songs into a rousing Afro-fusion. Their sound is modern and cosmopolitan, but remains firmly rooted in traditional Kenyan music. The focus is on the singer with a voice "that doesn't need to put on any acrobatic displays" (Jazzthing).

Nina Ogot has played at festivals all over the world and is now touring Europe for the fourth time.She has new songs from her freshly recorded album Ukumbu.KE in her luggage, on which she allows memories of traditional music, earlier media worlds and her own experiences to shine through in her compositions. The eight-piece formation from four countries unfolds the full power and beauty of Ogot's unique songs, down-to-earth, exotic, authentic and full of infectious cheerfulness.
