With Hannah Alkire (cello, vocals) and Joe Scott (guitar, vocals) from Acoustic Eidolon, Ireland's most famous violinist Máire Breatnach, and the Berlin harpist and photographer Thomas Loefke, four musicians from the USA, Ireland and Germany come together to celebrate a festival of Celtic and acoustic music.
Acoustic Eidolon: Cellist Hannah Alkire and guitarist Joe Scott come from Berthoud, Colorado, a village at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. For Acoustic Eidolon they have created their own unmistakable sound in the field of "New Acoustic Music": Joe plays the "double-neck guitjo", a guitar he designed with two necks and 14 strings. The bell-like sound of the guitjo provides an endearing counterpoint to Hannah's brilliant, emotional flights of fancy on the cello. www.acousticeidolon.com

Máire Breatnach, Ireland's violinist made world famous by Riverdance, hails from Dingle in the south west of Ireland. She is a musical storyteller, a modern representative of the Celtic bard guild. Her compositions are about lovers and the great epics of Irish mythology, her songs are the great traditional love songs of Ireland, in Gaelic of course: "Sean nos" - full of longing, passion and melancholy. Harpist and photographer Thomas Loefke retreats to the island world in the North Atlantic at least once a year to compose. To Tory Island, the Irish island of legends and songs, to the Scottish Hebrides or to the wild archipelago of the Faroe Islands.
