PREMIERE - Further development of a PARANORMA event

The medlar tree, the waves of the sea and the buzzing of insects - that was Laila's world. A beautiful, seductive dream that has long since disappeared. The past - a place of longing, a place where she wants to linger and dream on. She wakes up in a dream and lingers. Her memories spread through the air of exile.

In Nostalgia for Laila, Eman Dwagy creates an escape story that is exemplary for many biographies. It describes the search for a safe place. The question remains: can a place where you feel like a stranger provide security? Nostalgia for Laila is a long journey, an attempt to remember and to settle into a new reality. The audience can listen in and find their role in it.

PREMIERE - further development of a PARANORMA - Event

Everywhere, cuts are being made in culture. The demand for free performance opportunities is growing, while at the same time, more and more creative spaces in Berlin are disappearing. PARANORMA aims to counteract this by providing the stage at Ballhaus Prinzenallee free of charge every Wednesday for artists and collectives, so that productions that absolutely need to be seen can be showcased.
