UK/PT 2025 - 78' - OmeU - Director: Aaron Brookner, Rodrigo Areias

In the autumn of 1978, the "Nova Convention" took place in New York: a three-day event of readings, performances, music and panel discussions in honor of and with the participation of the writer William S. Burroughs. Also present: many famous companions from the American culture/underground scene, from Allen Ginsberg to Patti Smith. Around 40 hours of footage were recently found in the archive of poet and co-organizer John Giorno; however, this film not only offers a nostalgic look back, but also has contemporary appeal due to the topics it touches on (from space travel to minority rights).

Created by Rodrigo Areias and Brookner's nephew Aaron Brookner, NOVA '78 is an archival documentary compiled from footage of the three-day event that was long thought to be lost.
