November Veedeltour - Kwartier Latäng

In the organizer's words:

New month, new neighborhood. The planning is always as exciting as the evening itself. Which neighborhood do we take? Which restaurant, which pubs do we try out? This time we're going to the Kwartier Latäng!

Every month, together with our partner Haus Kölscher Brautradition, we discover a Veedel for you. Enjoying a cold Kölsch, having a drink, tasty & special food in the Veedel or just taking a look at special features? 1st stop La Tortue:

Our first stop is La Tortue. Right on the Ring. A recommendation from our friends. As soon as we enter, we are thrilled: bright, modern and inviting. There are endless Spanish tapas on the menu. The ones on the neighboring tables all look delicious, so we immediately start the selection process. With five people, it adds up to quite a bit. So here are just three of our "must haves": Canarian potatoes with mojo sauce, meatballs in tomato sauce, chicken in garlic sauce. It doesn't take long and the first little bowls land on our table. Oh my God, this is going to be a feast! We treat ourselves to the first Kölsch of the evening. The nice thing about tapas is that you can try so many different ones. Most of the ones we chose are with garlic, but since we're sharing everything, that's fine. Really delicious and the cold Sion goes perfectly with it. We finish with an espresso.

2nd stop melting pot:

Then we are back on the road. Today the ways are partly a little further. First, the road takes us to the "melting pot". There are more picturesque routes, but because we are chatting all the time anyway, we don't notice it that much. It becomes all the more beautiful when we enter: The location exudes a certain retro charm. We like it. 70s patterned wallpaper, dark furnishings and funny accessories like an antique typewriter round off the flair. We are greeted nicely and quickly have a Sion Kölsch in hand. We slowly savor it and explore the interior a bit. We move on.

3rd stop Lost Level:

For our next stop we have chosen an innovative gamer bar: the "Lost Level". A funny concept. Here you can gamble on computers and consoles, but you don't have to. You can also watch. And that's exactly what we do - with a Peters in hand. The fates of the opponents are quite different, but everyone is obviously having fun. Actually, we'd like to try our hand at it, but we'll postpone that for another time.

4th stop Ferkulum:

As we pass the Ferkulum, memories come flooding back. Here probably everyone has already devoured a saving gyros pita in long nights. Today we pass by relaxed and change the side of the street. We feel like Caribbean flair and that's what we get here at the "Mojito". Already from outside you can hear Salsa rhythms. You either love it or hate it. We are in the mood for it now. So in we go. The music makes you feel like you're on vacation and lifts your spirits. The bartenders are passionately mixing a wide variety of cocktails. Of course, there's only room for Kölsch in our glass. We let our souls dangle a little and think about where we would like to go on vacation this year. There is still room for discussion. End open.

5th stop Hotelux:

For our nightcap we have chosen the "Hotelux" at the beautiful Rathenauplatz. Here time seems to have stopped and we feel like in former times. We reminisce over a Peters Kölsch.
